How we use AI at Calyptus
If you’re wondering how our AI helps match you with relevant job opportunities, you’ve come to the right place. We use AI to help evaluate and match your profile with employers to help make hiring faster, fairer, and more accurate so both you and the employer can make the right decision.
When you sign up to our platform, Calyptus’ AI analyses your CV and profile information to help speed up the platform onboarding process and understand your experience, skills, and preferences.
AI interviews
If applicable, you may have completed an AI interview with onboarding. We run AI interviews to help assess your communication, experience, skills and ultimately understand what your ideal role looks like.
To make sure interviews happen safely, we’ve partnered with HeyMilo, the SOC Type I & II-compliant and GDPR-compliant video interviewing platform, that runs and processes all interview data privately and securely. Rest assured your personal data will never be shared with anyone outside of our platform, only with specific employers on-platform that match your chosen preferences.
Human Interviews
If you spoke directly with one of our recruitment team, then your video interview has been safely and securely added to your profile, unless otherwise stated. Here, instead of HeyMilo’s AI assessing and scoring your profiles, our recruitment team have assigned their own professional judgement, assessment and scoring. Again, your personal data will never be shared with anyone outside of our platform, only with specific employers on-platform that match your chosen preferences.
Both AI and human-led video interviews boost chances of interview with employers. But if you ever want your video removed, then our Support Team would be happy to help: support@calyptus.co
How does our matching work? We use an algorithm that’s weighted on hard and soft filters to help match candidates with relevant employers. Hard filters include: Location (if applicable), Salary Expectation, Role Title Match (maximum of 3) and Skills Matched (minimum of 2). So if these things do not match, you will not be seen by an employer for a role. Otherwise, you will land in the employers “Matched” pile for review alongside your video interview, filled out profile and relevant “soft filter” scores including: communication, experience match, skill match, AI fluency.
If you land in an employer’s matched pile, you’re officially visible. To help our employers make decisions viewing candidates profiles, our algorithm then ranks candidates based on their HeyMilo or Recruiter Professional Scores (skills match, experience match, communication, AI fluency). The better the match, the higher you’re ranked.
It must be emphasised that the employers make all the decisions from declining, moving to interview, call scheduling and hiring. Our rankings and AI & human scores help inform but never to make decisions on behalf of employers. There is always a professional-in-the-loop from the employer’s side to make the final call.
Our systems are designed to be discrimination-blind and consider only relevant professional signals such as skills, experience, and interview responses. Gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexuality are strictly and purposefully excluded from our algorithm, AI scoring and ranking. You may add this information in Additional Info to help improve DE&I processes for employers, but it will strictly not impact your profile’s visibility, scoring or ranking.
