Got an Email and Want to Know: Is Calyptus Legit?

If you've just received an email from Calyptus or seen us mentioned somewhere and want to check we're a real company you're in the right place.

This page answers every legitimate question candidates and clients ask about us. Short answer: yes, Calyptus is a real, UK-based recruitment platform founded in 2022 and run by a team of 20 humans all available on LinkedIn. The longer answer is below.

Yes - Calyptus Is a Real, UK-Based AI Recruitment Platform

Calyptus is an AI-powered recruitment platform that helps high-growth companies particularly in AI, tech, and Web3 hire top engineers, marketers, and salespeople. We combine AI-driven candidate sourcing with a human recruitment team that personally speaks with every outbound candidate we reach out to.

Why You Might Be Asking "Is Calyptus Legit?"

Being cautious is the right instinct. Recruitment scams are real - fake job postings, phishing emails, and impersonation attempts have increased significantly in the last few years. Candidates have every right to verify a company before sharing personal details or booking a call.

You likely landed here because one of the following happened:

All of those are normal ways people first hear from us. None of them are fortunately scams.

How Calyptus Actually Works

Our platform runs on a methodology we call Just-in-Time Talent.
Here's the full flow, so you can see exactly where you fit in:

1. An employer posts  a real job

Every opportunity on Calyptus is tied to a real employer who has paid to hire through us. We do not post fake or "ghost" jobs, and we do not create job listings to generate leads or collect candidate data.

2. Our AI sourcing tech identifies candidates

When an employer opens a role, our AI begins identifying best-match candidates from public sources (LinkedIn, GitHub, etc.) based on the role's specific requirements. This is standard AI-assisted sourcing used by most modern recruitment teams.

3. A human recruiter reviews the match and reaches out

Before any outbound email is sent, a human recruiter on our team reviews the AI-generated shortlist, verifies the fit, and personalises the outreach. The email you received from us was sent and signed by a real person - not an AI.

4. For outbound candidates, you speak with a human

If you were emailed by our team, the Calendly link in that email is to book time directly with a member of our recruitment team: Nicole, Callum, Dianmarie, or a Web3 team member if the role is Web3/blockchain. They're real humans with public LinkedIn profiles available.

5. For inbound candidates, you speak with our AI interviewer (Alex)

If you signed up to our platform directly or applied to a role on LinkedIn, your first interaction will be with Alex, our AI interviewer. This is an AI tool that conducts an initial screening interview so we can understand your background, skills, and goals before connecting you to a human recruiter and employers. We're fully transparent about this - you'll always know when you're speaking with Alex vs a human.

Does Calyptus Sell Candidate Data to Train AI Models?

No.  Where other platforms might do this, Calyptus does not.

Two things we will never do:

  • We do not use candidate data to train AI models.
  • We do not post fake jobs or ghost listings to harvest data.

What we actually do with your data:

  • We use it to match you to real job opportunities from real employers, and we store it securely in line with GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
